The Great Aim of Education is not Knowledge but Action - Herbert Spencer

Created this with a Movie Making program inside of a game. Just submitted it for an award. Some of the blue characters actions were motion captured from a camera and imported into the game.

I made this in a free program called "Source Filmaker." Source Filmmaker is a free product that Valve (Creators of the Half-Life, Portal and Team Fortress series) released to the public. It allows you to utilize the ingame engine into creating your own masterpieces. This took about a month trying to figure out how to use the program and all. I bought myself an Xbox 360 Kinect and hooked it up to my computer and was able to motion capture myself and put it into this video. My overall expense ONLY because of the kinect, which I wont ever have to purchase again was $50. Here is a "Introduction" to the program, the learning curve wasn't that bad to be honest. Introduction to Source Filmmaker On their Website there is a couple of Tutorials that you need to watch to better understand it. It's really user friendly. Lemme know if you create anything, I'd love to see it!

Tell me more about how you made this? Time it took? Is it expensive software? What is the learning curve? Impressed and inspired. However, I would expect nothing less from you.
