The Great Aim of Education is not Knowledge but Action - Herbert Spencer
A person with Kleptomania is a person that has the urge to steal things that are not needed. The reson people with Kleptomania steal is because they get a tension in them before they do it that makes them feel like they need to steal, and after they do steal it makes them feel good it gives them a rush and a feeling of relief.
I think that Kleptomania is just a name for thefts that are out of control. If a person cannot control what they need to do they should get help. And if they dont know that they have a problem someone should help them get help. I bet that if you have the right people to help you you can get over your Kleptomania.
Kleptomania is a very interesting subject. It sounds like hoarding, but instead of buying the things, you are stealing things to satisfy an impulse. The things people with kleptomania steal are usually pointless to them; they just steal it because they fell like they have to. They don’t like stealing and even fell bad afterwards, so sometimes they will give the stuff to other people or hide it.
I thought that this episode was very interesting.
Kleptomania is the repeated impulse to steal or induce stealing behavior, when people are truly diagnosed with this disorder they need a relief of tension by stealing. Usually they truly don’t need the item and it’s usually something they can afford, such as lip balm or baby clothes, sunglasses, and even batteries. Some suggest that the disorder can branch from hoarding.
The federal court system does not recognize kleptomania as a true defense or as a disorder since a lot of people think they can just play the “get out of jail free” card.
$45 billion were taken in a toll in shop lifting in the U.S.
I think that kleptomania is in very small amount of people and that it is just natural, and we will find out how to get rid of it and that we will start weeding that trait out, and put more desirable traits in.
