The House on Loon Lake

This American Life - The House on Loon Lake

Doing reading responses for college. Professor tells us about Glass, and I'm the only one who knows about it.

Here is what I got out of it:

                I see two versions of my life when I listen to Adam interviewing both his childhood life and the secrets of this abandoned family.

     …

Visited Middle & High School Math Classes, At Child's Way Charter School. 1/16/2013 Question 5

840 stickers were given to 42 children. 2/3 of the children were boys, and each of them received the same number of stickers. Each girl received twice as many stickers as each boy. How many stickers did each girl receive?

Solution: 42 children, 2/3 boys, that means: 2/3(42) = 28 boys & 14 girls

Let S = the # of stickers received by boys

Let 2S = the # of stickers receive by girls

840 = 28S + 14(2S)

840 = 28S + 28S

840 =…

Mrs. Suarez bought 3 pairs of jeans and 5 shirts for $441.00. If each pair of jeans cost 2/3 as much as each shirt,

a) What was the price of each pair of jeans?

b) What was the price of each shirt?

Solution: Let S be the price of shirts, and J be the price of the jeans.

You are told: 3J + 5S = $441.00

                     J = (2/3)S

Plug in J into the first equations:

                    3(2/3)S + 5S =…

I will work for / I will not work for

I would like a school that produces results in tandem with the love of learning.

I don’t want results that hinder the love of learning.

I don’t want a school that is loved but without results.

That’s the trick of setting up environments. The balance of holding student’s accountable...

Decaying Nights. A poem I wrote.

I will fight, Between the days, And the night, In many ways.

In many ways, I will fight, My life decays, In the night.

In the night, I am gone, There is no light, To sing that song.

In the night, There are no lights, When I fight, For my rights.
